Ilker Ayci, former President of Turkish Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency, was elected President of WAIPA in 2014 at the WAIPA Board Meeting held in the Republic of South Africa and served its term until 2016 when he was appointed as the chairman of Turkish Airlines.
In his term WAIPA operations were moved from Geneva to Istanbul.
The Air India board met on Monday afternoon to consider his candidature. Ayci will assume his responsibilities by April 1, 2022.
