World Bank: Leveraging Critical Minerals for Manufacturing Investment

This session will explore how countries and IPAs can move from broad ambitions for mineral-based industrial development toward identifying and facilitating concrete investment opportunities in mid- and downstream value-chain segments. Drawing on perspectives from IPAs, investors, and other stakeholders, the discussion will examine what makes these investments commercially attractive, how agencies can identify and target potential investors, and which services and coordination mechanisms are most effective in addressing investment barriers. It will also consider how regional investment facilitation platforms and stronger public-private coordination can support the development of competitive, cross-border mineral value chains.
