The World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO) as Regional Director for Central Asia.
AZPROMO joins the WAIPA Steering Committee at a time when regional cooperation, investment connectivity, and sustainable economic development are becoming increasingly important priorities globally. Its appointment reinforces WAIPA’s commitment to ensuring strong regional representation and fostering collaboration among investment promotion agencies worldwide.
Established in 2003 and operating under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, AZPROMO has played a central role in promoting exports, attracting foreign direct investment, and supporting the diversification of Azerbaijan’s economy. Through its investor-focused “single window” approach, the agency facilitates investment projects and helps strengthen partnerships between domestic and international businesses.
Over the years, AZPROMO has developed extensive expertise in investment promotion, export development, international business engagement, and organizing large-scale economic events. Its broad international network and strong understanding of global markets have positioned the agency as a key partner in advancing economic cooperation and investment opportunities across the region.
As Regional Director for Central Asia, AZPROMO will contribute to strengthening dialogue among investment promotion agencies, promoting the region’s investment potential, and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices among WAIPA members. The appointment also reflects the growing importance of Central Asia in the evolving global investment landscape and the opportunities for deeper regional and international collaboration.
