WAIPA at the 7th OECD Investment Promotion Agency Network Meeting
The 7th OECD IPA Network meeting will focus on investment promotion for sustainable regional development. Senior investment promotion practitioners and policy makers from OECD and partner countries will come together to share their experiences and discuss good practices.
Session 1: Foreign Direct Investment in Support of Regional Development: Opportunities, Challenges and the Role of Investment Promotion & Facilitation (plenary session – public).
Session 2: The Role of Investment Promotion Agencies in Promoting Sustainable Regional Development: Strategies, Governance and Coordination Mechanisms (closed session – OECD IPAs).
Session 3: Strategic Prioritisation and Tools for Monitoring & Evaluation Addressing the Changing Global FDI Landscape: New Approaches (closed session – OECD IPAs).
Leading IPA representatives, policy makers and business will share their views on how FDI can support regional development and the role that investment promotion and facilitation measures can play in this. WAIPA President, Mr. Deepak Bagla and WAIPA Executive Director (a.i.) Mr. Ismail Ersahin will be participating in the Session 1 on Foreign Direct Investment in Support of Regional Development: Opportunities, Challenges and the Role of Investment Promotion & Facilitation and also in the 5th Roundtable on Investment and Sustainable Development on how to set reforms in motion to boost sustainable investment, held on 18 October 2022.
