WEF Annual Meeting Affiliate Session: Promoting Investment in SDGs
WAIPA will hold Affiliate Session on Promoting investment in SDGs: Repurposing Capital, jointly organized by WAIPA & UNCTAD during the upcoming World Economic Forum Annual Meeting at Davos.
This session will focus on incentivizing investment in climate-resilient and sustainable development projects and scaling up existing partnerships for public-private engagement concerning the 2030 Agenda. The WAIPA-UNCTAD Affiliate Session in May 2022 witnessed the launch of The World Investment for Development Alliance (WIDA) founded by 10 prominent global organizations working in the Investment for Development space.
To achieve the SDGs, more funds must be channeled into investible projects aligning with the vision statements of nations. Generating sustainable projects, increasing the financial viability of these projects, and focused targeting and rating of projects from an SDG-themed perspective are urgently needed. Such initiatives are gaining eminence amongst institutional investors that manage over $126 trillion worth of capital globally.
The session will feature eminent speakers from Government & private sector and the WIDA organizations (AIB, AUC, IISD, ITC, OECD, UNCTAD, UNESCAP, UNIDO, WAIPA, WBG & WEF).
Date & Time: 17 January 2023, 15:45 – 16:45
