Categories Brief 

A- AI Trailblazer Award – Awarded to an IPA that has successfully integrated Artificial Intelligence into its investment promotion activities. This may include the use of AI for investor targeting, predictive analytics, automated engagement, or intelligent platforms that enhance outreach, personalization, and decision-making amongst others.​

B- Innovative Investment Promotion Campaign – Awarded for a sectoral or geographic campaign that effectively attracted investor interest. The campaign should include marketing, social media, investor targeting, and outreach. Submissions must show the objective, approach, and early results. Campaigns launched from Jan 2023 with outcomes by June 2025 are eligible.​

C- Excellence in Investment Facilitation – Awarded for a project where the IPA provided exceptional support from planning to grounding. The submission must highlight coordination, responsiveness, and problem-solving that directly led to successful investment implementation.​

D- Sustainability Impact Award – Awarded for a project that advanced national or global sustainability goals. The IPA must demonstrate its facilitation role in enabling a project aligned with climate action, SDGs, or circular economy principles.​

E- Excellence in Aftercare – Awarded for a structured aftercare initiative that led to reinvestment, expansion, or issue resolution. Submissions should demonstrate clear processes, active investor engagement, and measurable outcomes in the last year.​

F- Voice Of Investors Award – Awarded for a focused advocacy initiative that improved sectoral investment conditions. The IPA must show leadership in resolving investor challenges or driving reforms, with tangible outcomes such as retained or increased investments.​

Eligibility and Terms of Participation

Eligibility and Terms of Participation​

• Only WAIPA Member IPAs are eligible to participate in the “WAIPA InvestmentExcellence Awards” competition.​

• IPAs will need to fill out a separate “WAIPA Investment Excellence Awards” applicationforms for each entry.​

• An IPA may submit up to two entries in each category and a maximum of six entries in all. ​

• Time-period under different categories​

A. Investment Promotion​

• AI Trailblazer Award – The AI initiative must have been implemented between January 2021 and December 2024, with measurable outcomes demonstrated by May 2025.​

• Innovative Investment Promotion Campaign – The campaign must have been executed between January 2021 and December 2024, with visible results or engagement outcomes by May 2025.​

B. Investment Facilitation​

• Excellence in Investment Facilitation – The facilitation process must have commenced after January 2021, and either the groundbreaking or project completion should have occurred by June 2025.​

• Sustainability Impact Award – The investment facilitation process must have begun after January 2020, and the investment project must have become operational by May 2025.​

C. Aftercare and Advocacy​

• Excellence in Aftercare – The aftercare activities must have taken place between January 2021 and December 2024, with tangible results (e.g., reinvestment,issue resolution) realized by May 2025.​

• Voice Of Investors Award – The advocacy initiative must have been undertaken between January 2021 and December 2024, with measurable policy outcomes or business environment improvements evident by May 2025.​
