World Bank Group (WBG) and the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), we cordially invite you to a webinar on the State of Investment Promotion Agencies: Evidence from WAIPA-WBG’s Joint Global Survey which will be held on Tuesday, 15 September,2020 at 16:00 – 18:00h (GMT+3).

This webinar on the State of Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs), organized jointly by the World Bank and World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), provides details of the characteristics of national IPAs around the world, based on a joint global survey conducted by the World Bank and WAIPA.

Following the novel World Bank framework for investment promotion, the report delivers empirical insights about IPAs’ strategies, institutional set-up, and investor service offerings, as well as the challenges they face, and the reforms they would like their governments to implement.

This webinar is held in the framework of a joint World Bank-WAIPA partnership focused on the development of Investment Policy and Promotion research for Development. It also provides the opportunity for those IPAs that did not participate to understand the recent efforts carried out by the World Bank and WAIPA in the investment policy and promotion arena.

The webinar will be conducted in an interactive manner and allow for questions by participants. After an introduction and briefing the webinar participants about the state of play of the IPAs, key issues will be discussed, including the challenges that have arisen as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic that IPAs are currently facing, and best approaches for IPA and FDI resilience.
