The WAIPA Permanent Secretariat was on a 5-days visit to India, where they have kickstarted the first chapter of the WAIPA capacity building initiatives in India. As part of the visit, WAIPA organized the National Workshop on Global Best Practices on investment promotion and facilitation for State IPAs of India.
In the workshop, WAIPA President and Invest India CEO Mr. Deepak Bagla stressed the importance of the National Single Window System (NSWS) in the context of the ease of doing business. This system hosts information on approvals across 32 Central Ministry Departments and 16 States / UTs of India, through which investors can access over 150 central approvals and 14 state single window systems.
Presentations were also delivered by WAIPA’s Executive Director, Mr. Ismail Ersahin who took the participants through the global best practices in investment promotion. Ms. Courtney Fingar editor-in-chief, Investment Monitor hosted an insightful session on current FDI Trends and Supply Chain Disruption. Ms. Eva Šalamon Kaplan, Communication Specialist, WAIPA presented the IPA’s insights on the good social media strategies.
Numerous interesting sessions were held and it was a sincere pleasure to meet our colleagues from Invest India, State IPAs, PDCs of various ministries, and investors such as Renew Mahindra and DP World and to renew the MoU with International Solar Alliance. Moreover, WAIPA was also delighted to officially open a new WAIPA India Presence and welcome all investment promoters and colleagues to visit us at the Invest India HQ.
WAIPA continues to offer new opportunities for capacity building, knowledge sharing and regional cooperation. WAIPA Presidency Invest India has been a gracious host and together we are on a journey to create maximum value and impact for IPAs.
