About the World Investment Conference
Since its inception in 1995, WAIPA’s World Investment Conference (WIC) has acted as a global forum where investment promotion agencies (IPAs) can address pressing economic and social issues affecting global investment flows.
Past conferences have been hosted in vibrant cities like Milan, Rio, Geneva, Istanbul, Dubai, Xiamen, Warsaw, and New Delhi. The conference includes formal panel presentations, networking opportunities and social events for the members. Past panelists include global and business leaders, along with other influencers like economists and members of academia.
Celebrating 30 Years of WAIPA
#WIC2025 will mark WAIPA’s 30th anniversary. This milestone provides a momentous occasion for global leaders, policymakers, IPAs, and other high-ranking decision-makers to reflect on three decades of investment promotion efforts and to initiate a new paradigm aligning with emerging global priorities.

Expected to be held in Q4 of 2025, we invite all interested hosts to submit their formal letters of interest for #WIC2025 to [email protected]. The closing date for applications is 30 September 2024.
Applications should demonstrate the capacity and experience of the host to run a major international event, including maintaining a website, publicizing the event, arranging venues and services, developing an innovative program, and organizing attractive social events.
All letters that meet the requirements will be considered. We are grateful to all members who are eager to take an active role in furthering WAIPA’s engagement with the community and offer to support us in this way.
