We are seeking a Communications Officer (full time) to join our international team at the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), the main global body representing agencies charged with attracting investment into their jurisdictions and a leading voice in the realm of foreign direct investment.

As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for executing our communications strategy to enhance our global outreach, promote our mission, and engage stakeholders across diverse platforms and audiences. WAIPA is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in its workforce.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Communication Planning: Support in designing and execute robust communication strategies that align with WAIPA’s goals, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels to enhance outreach to members, partners, and the media.

• Content Creation: Craft engaging multimedia content, including press releases, articles, newsletters, social media posts, website copy, videos, reports, and promotional materials that effectively showcase the association’s impact, initiatives, and success stories.

• Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure press coverage and advance the association’s mission and initiatives.

• Digital Marketing & Social Media Management: Oversee all digital platforms, including social media accounts and the main website, ensuring the delivery of engaging, timely content and monitoring analytics to maximize reach and engagement.

• Internal Communication: Drive internal communication efforts to keep staff and members informed and engaged with the organization’s objectives, activities, and achievements.

• Brand Management: Protect the organization’s brand integrity by developing and enforcing brand guidelines consistently across all communication materials.

• Event Management: Lead communication efforts for events, conferences, and campaigns, including the creation of promotional materials, press releases, and securing media coverage.

• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to align communication strategies and effectively engage stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.

• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a communications role, preferably within the non-profit sector or international organizations.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English

• Creativity in developing engaging content

• Strong understanding of media relations, digital marketing, and social media management.

• Proficient in graphic design software and/or video editing tools.

• Experienced in utilizing communication tools and platforms, including social media management tools, and analytics.

• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

• Fluency in multiple languages is advantageous.
